PRESS RELEASE: UATH Awards Contract for Supply of 1.5 Tesla Helium-Free MRI Machine
Abuja – June 2, 2026 – The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) has awarded a contract for the supply and installation of a 1.5 Tesla Helium-free MRI machine to strengthen its diagnostic services. Speaking during the presentation of the award letter, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Thairu Yunusa said the long-awaited Helium-free MRI machine will enable the hospital to diagnose complex diseases with greater accuracy and without the safety concerns associated with conventional systems. The contract award followed a competitive bidding process conducted in line with due process and the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2007.
