The board of trustees of Okapi Children Cancer Foundation (OCCF) paid a courtsey visit to the Management of University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Abuja on the 1st of Septemer 2022 to brief the CMD and Management in the childhood cancer awareness month which is recognized globally every September.

Okapi CCF appreciated the management of UATH for the seamless support and partnership over the years in ensuring that children fighting Cancer are given the necessary assistance. They also informed the management of UATH about their upcoming childhood cancer awareness walk scheduled for the 24th of September 2022.

The awareness walk is aimed at increasing awareness of the plight children with Cancer face, as well as raise funds for children receiving treatment for cancer in UATH and other recognized hospitals in Abuja.

The CMD appreciated the Okapi CCF team for the work they have been doing since 2019 and gave full assurances of his support towards a more solid partnership and in particular the upcoming walk of hope for children fighting Cancer.

The Okapi Children’s foundation (OCCF)is a Non- governmental organization formed in 2017 by a group of friends with a shared common passion for humanitarian deeds.

It has as it’s motto to give hope, share love while it’s vision is to be the support system for children diagnosed with cancer in Nigeria and it’s mission is to inspire hope,provide emotional, psychological and financial support to children diagnosed with cancer.

Responding the Chief Medical Director of UATH Professor Bissallah A Ekele said “for us in the teaching hospital, we would Continue to encourage and give your foundation all the necessary support it deserves…I am Strongly Convinced with pace and the Spirit behind your foundation, It is just a matter of time your foundation’s name will be written in gold all over the world because of what you are doing to humanity.”..he added.

“I employ you to keep the good work aglow” he Concluded.
