The isolation complex being constructed by the Federal Ministry of Health at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital will be completed and put to use as scheduled.

Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Alhaji Abdulaziz Abdullahi gave the assurance after visiting the project site to ascertain the level of work. He charged the contractor, Mufo Polo Nigeria Limited, to be thorough in the execution of the project and deliver on schedule. Alhaji Abdullahi disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Health was up- to-date in funding of the project adding that there was no reason for the project not to be delivered as agreed.

Appreciating the Permanent Secretary for the commitment and assurances, the Chief Medical Director, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Professor Bissallah Ekele said the Management of the hospital was open for more projects adding that the hospital was blessed with more land space for development.

The isolation complex being constructed under the supervision of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has apartments for high and low risk clients and are further divided into male, female and children’s wards with provisions for dialysis, intensive care and theatre. Present at the event were top officials of the Federal Ministry of Health, Management of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital and the Director General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chikwe Ihekwazu.
