Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Gombe, until now, Head of the Department of Nursing has stepped out after thirty-five years in the public service and in her place is Mrs. Lydia Chukwu.

In a valedictory speech, Hajia Gombe said she was thrilled by the team work exhibited by nurses in the course of her headship of the department. In acknowledgement of the robust support she received from the Board and Management of the Hospital, Hajia Gombe said the footprint she was leaving behind could not have been possible without the rare opportunity given her to serve as Head of the Department. “I enjoyed working with all of you…I will miss you all,” she said.

She appealed for cooperation, understanding and greater teamwork among health care workers in order to ensure the best of care for patients. The out-going Head of Nursing called for support for her successor, Mrs. Lydia Chukwu in order to attain greater heights in the department.
