The Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigerian Prisons Service says it is ready to consolidate on the existing cordial ties between the Command and the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in the overall interest of its inmates. The Controller of Prisons, Federal Capital Territory Command, Controller Mustapha Attah stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Professor Bissallah Ekele in his office.

Controller Attah who was recently appointed to oversee the operations of the Federal Capital Territory Command said had been briefed by his predecessor on the robust relations between the hospital and the Command. He gave an assurance that the FCT Prisons Command under his leadership would consolidate on the relationship for the well being of inmates who come to the hospital to access healthcare. The new Controller of Prisons appealed to the Management of the hospital to consider a waiver of some of its charges as its contribution to the welfare of inmates of the Command.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Professor Bissallah Ekele said he was delighted to receive the new Controller of Prisons in the Federal Capital Territory in his office and promised speedy care for inmates who patronize the hospital for healthcare.
